We’re thrilled to announce the signing of Billy Ramsden, a hugely exciting young all-rounder with strong Yorkshire roots and valuable experience across both England and New Zealand.

At just 19 years old, Billy joins us as a genuine all-rounder. A right-arm quick with plenty to offer with the bat, he has continued to develop his game at a high level, gaining experience in competitive senior cricket and quickly establishing himself as one to watch.

The 2024/25 season proved to be a breakthrough year. Turning out 21 times for the Greerton 1st XI in the Bay of Plenty Premier Competition, Billy was named Most Promising Player after an impressive campaign with both bat and ball. He claimed 25 wickets and contributed over 200 runs, underlining his all-round value to the side.

He has carried that momentum into the 2025/26 season, starting in similarly strong fashion. In just nine matches, Billy has already surpassed last season’s run tally while continuing to take wickets regularly, showing maturity well beyond his years.

Billy holds a British passport and is well accustomed to English conditions. He most recently spent last summer playing for Scholes Cricket Club in the Huddersfield Premier League, where he impressed throughout the season and further demonstrated his ability to perform in senior, top level cricket.

Cricket runs deep in Billy’s blood. He boasts a proud Yorkshire heritage, with family ties to Huddersfield and Halifax.

Now, in 2026 Billy will link up with Old Glossop Cricket Club as part of our 125th Anniversary year at the Glossop Glass & Glazing Cricket Ground, adding further quality and depth to the squad.
