February Newsletter

As we head into February & the evenings now begin to get lighter, we have the next instalment of our monthly newsletter. Hope you enjoy!

The painting of the club house balcony has almost been finished. It looks fantastic in its new grey colour! We are currently on the lookout to replace the matting on the balcony as it has seen better days. If anyone knows someone who can help with this please contact:

We launched our new official club website earlier this month. If you haven’t seen the website yet, check it out here

We are pleased with how it is looking so far!! There is still plenty of content we are hoping to add throughout the season. If anybody has any ideas for the website, or has any information or photos from the past please email:

The new ICON kit has now been finalised & the club shop is in the process of being launched this week. Below is a sneak peek of a selection of items we will have to offer.

This month we will be collating a bulk order, firstly for new white & T20 playing shirts for the senior teams. Then bulk orders (15+) will be arranged for junior kit & any off field wear if demand requires.

Pre season nets were due to start this coming month. However, with the current lockdown restrictions in place until at least mid February, indoor nets are currently postponed for the moment. We are hopeful we can get some form of practice in before the season starts, so we will keep you posted on any updates once the restrictions are eased.

We are continually on the lookout for new players so if anyone is interested in joining Old Glossop in 2021 please get in contact at:

For those who may be unaware the cricket club has an Easy Fundraising page. Easy Fundraising turns your everyday online shopping into free donations towards the cricket club. To join our cause, find our Easy Fundraising page here. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask Lenny Allsopp.

The club AGM would usually have been scheduled to take place at the club by now, however, with lockdown restrictions this has

been unable to take place. A virtual AGM has been scheduled to take place, via ZOOM on Tuesday 9th February at 7pm.

The Derbyshire & Cheshire League structure & fixtures should be released this month. Once released, excitement can finally start to build for the upcoming season.

Virtual awards video has been delayed due to COVID restrictions, the club is 100% committed to this happening before the start of the new season.
